I've spent a few $$$$ with them also, and have never been displeased. I DO wish they offered a on-line order system. I recently ordered some items by mail, and they were received in less than 10 days, as I recall. I had sent an email inquiry about prices and availability, to which they responded quickly, as their (undated) catalog that I had received at a Falcon meet was questionable in regard to being current. I received new catalogs with the merchandise, honoring my request.

Since Melvin’s is about 15 miles from me I can get parts the same day and save on the shipping. I’ve been buying parts from Melvin’s since 1989. I’m not going to embarrass myself telling y’all how many times I drove over there on Monday just to see the sign on the door that says “Closed on Monday”. They are great people to do business with.

I just ordered the Rear bumper seals for both of my cars. $30 each and $10 shipping.

That is a much better deal than Falconparts.com Which was $32.XX plus $16.XX for shipping. I didn't like the shipping cost at Falconparts.com........I think it is a percentage of the parts cost....which gives you absolutely no incentive to buy more. They should take a hint from Summit and Jegs and have a low flat rate. for "handling" and free shipping.

I used their online catalog to find the part # and price of the parts I needed and then called in the order the next day. The lady on the phone just took the numbers and my info and said we'll get it out to you. OK great! What she didn't bother to tell me was some of the items were now priced higher. (I have since been told that I was supposed to ask!) Well, you know, if something went up 5 or 10%, I probably wouldn't have said anything, but one of the items (rear shackles for my '62) went from $20 each to $50 each! A 250% increase! Am I wrong here to expect that they should have informed me of this? Whenever I have called in an order anywhere else, they gave me the price on each item as I gave the number to them. Well, anyway, the worst part was, when I contacted them for a return authorization and to get a refund they said all they can do is a store credit! I told them that wouldn't do any good since I didn't want to do business with them anymore. So, now I'm stuck with $100 shackles! Lesson learned I guess!

In the past 3 weeks, I've placed two orders with them, and no problems. I have their most recent catalogs, Falcon and Fairlane, and both have a notice on the front cover to check for prices due to current economy. Both orders were placed by phone on Tuesdays, and delivered UPS on Fridays. I did ask for current prices when placing the orders. I rate their service very high.

Well, today I found out that the strut rod bushings I ordered from Melvin's had the wrong size bushing in them. Add it to the list of complaints.

I have ordered several parts from Melvin's and never had a problem.
Very nice people to deal with.

I have bought from Melvins in the past and have no complaints re: their products or service.
Shipping can be a real headache with some vendors, I stopped dealing with MACS when they ripped me on a 1.50 item which was a part of a sizable order for my 50 Ford coupe...said it was a backorder and when it arrived a few weeks later, they charged $10.50 to ship it in a small brown envelope! They lost many hundreds in business due to their greedy shipping practices

One of my favorite resources for Falcon specific parts. I have been buying from them for over ten years. Very nice people (family business). They have developed an online catalog and it works. Keep in mind that they part out vehicles, so if you need a used part. Just call and ask them.

I just made my first order with them yesterday and EVERYTHING on the list shipped. That is a first for me as with every other vendor, half my order gets backordered.
I think they will be the first people I check with from now on.

How much did you pay for it? The 2 1/2" thick ones are harder to find than 2" Here's one:
